Descripción del proyecto
Este proyecto para un concurso público convocado por el Gobierno Autónomo Municipal de La Paz planteaba entender el flujo de los automóviles como pretexto morfológico. Se trata de la estación intermodal destinada a cubrir el transporte interprovincial e interdepartamental que vincula a La paz con el norte del departamento y con el departamento del Beni.
Se pretendía con el proyecto mandar una buena parte de los andenes de servicio y los estacionamientos a los subsuelos, para generar una gran plaza alrededor de la terminal. Las sugerentes y ligeramente curvas cubiertas permitían entender una volumetría fragmentada bajo ese concepto de movilidad, flujo y dinamismo. De nuevo la arquitectura propuesta privilegia la ciudad y el contexto, motivo por el cuál, creemos, se pierde el concurso.

INTERMODAL TERMINAL NORTE (MINASA)
La Paz, Bolivia.
This project, submitted to a public competition organized by the Autonomous Municipal Government of La Paz, sought to understand the flow of automobiles as a morphological pretext. It concerns the intermodal station intended to serve interprovincial and interdepartmental transport, linking La Paz with the northern part of the department and with the department of Beni.
The project aimed to relocate a significant portion of the service platforms and parking underground, creating a large plaza around the terminal. The suggestive, gently curved roofs allowed for a fragmented volumetric design based on this concept of mobility, flow, and dynamism. Once again, the proposed architecture prioritizes the city and its context, which, we believe, is why it lost the competition.
