Regresar a la escala de viviendas unifamiliares de gran escala es una satisfacción enorme. Y en este caso todo un desafío dialogar con un terreno que posee tanto desnivel sobre la vía de acceso, y una presencia muy importante de un enrome farellón como de telón de fondo.(Daniel)
Descripción del proyecto
Conceptualmente la vivienda se presenta a partir de un gran plano de ladrillo, doblado y con diferentes perforaciones, que se adapta al terreno y levita sobre la planta baja. Esconde buena parte de la vida privada de la calle y mediante fisuras deja a los ambientes privados balconear hacia la ciudad.
El programa era muy complejo, y en adición debíamos realizar dos bloques independientes, un garzonier para alojados y un parrillero en conexión con la piscina. Otro gran desafío era el de conseguir que la muralla de contención de la plataforma superior del terreno no fuese tremendamente impositiva hacia la calle, dialogando entre la superficie que se dejaba de ocupar, y la superficie tratada con jardineras escalonadas ascendentes.
Finalmente, otro requerimiento importante fue el de trabajar con ladrillo visto, motivo por el cual se trabajó delicadamente la piel de ladrillo con piezas que sobresalen del plano y otras rehundidas, y finalmente un sector perforado que tamiza el ingreso de luz desde la fachada principal sobre el ingreso.
En el proceso de diseño, se optó por trabajar con las cubiertas verdes, para recuperar algo de jardinería que se perdía con la piscina y con el tratamiento de las contenciones. Como siempre, se ha realizado un delicado trabajo en el ingreso de iluminación natural a los espacios interiores, en adición al lucernario principal en triple altura sobre el recibidor.

HOUSE IN LA ESCONDIDA

Returning to the scale of large-scale single-family homes is an enormous satisfaction. And in this case it is a challenge to dialogue with a land that has so much unevenness on the access road, and a very important presence of a gigantic cliff as a backdrop.
Conceptually, the house is conceived as a large, folded brick plane, with various perforations, that adapts to the terrain and appears to levitate above the ground floor. It conceals much of the private life from the street, while fissures allow the private spaces to overlook the city.
The program was very complex, and in addition we had to make two independent blocks, a one-person apartment for guests and a barbecue in connection with the pool.
Another great challenge was to ensure that the retaining wall of the upper platform of the land was not tremendously imposing towards the street, dialoguing between the surface that was no longer occupied, and the surface treated with ascending staggered planters.
Finally, another important requirement was to work with exposed brick, which is why the brick skin was delicately worked with pieces that overhang from the plane and others sunken, and finally a perforated sector that filters the entry of light from the main façade into the entrance.
In the design process, it was decided to work with the green roofs, to recover some gardening that was lost with the pool and with the treatment of the containments.
As always, a delicate job has been done in bringing natural light into the interior spaces, in addition to the main triple height skylight over the hall.
