Para participar en este concurso internacional, se debía presentar un dossier previo; si bien en el concurso nacional de la sede de la CAF en La Paz obtuvimos el tercer puesto, fuimos habilitados entres 52 talleres de arquitectura de Iberoamérica.(Daniel)
Descripción del proyecto
Se solicitaba un Edificio que posea la capacidad de un crecimiento posterior de un 40% aproximadamente, es decir debía ser desarrollado en dos fases constructivas.
Nuestra propuesta se explica principalmente en la planta baja, y en su vínculo con las áreas exteriores y verdes, pudiendo atravesar el edificio de un parque a otro a través de un espacio público ligeramente enterrado aprovechando el desnivel existente. Por el otro extremo se ingresa a la segunda planta baja que es el ingreso principal a las oficinas de la CAF con todos los sistemas de seguridad y de admisión. Un gran vacío central, rodeado de un paramento verde, genera un vínculo entre ambos bloques, y el bloque de crecimiento adjunto al menor de los bloques de primera fase.
El uso de cubiertas verdes, de fachadas ventiladas, de espacios de poco espesor favoreciendo la presencia de luz natural en todos los ambientes de trabajo y el uso de uso de terrazas habitables se presentaban como la fortaleza de nuestra propuesta.
Este trabajo tiene, para el menor del actual Estudio, una importancia personal grande: se trata de una primera colaboración de ideas con el taller, siendo yo todavía estudiante en mi cuarto año universitario. Supuso un reto especial, ya que se requería mostrar un grado de madurez, en un equipo de gente que ya era profesional. (Santiago)

COMPETITION: CORPORACIÓN ANDINA DE FOMENTO CENTRAL HEADQUARTERS / CARACAS

In order to participate in this international competition, a previous dossier had to be submitted; Although in the national competition of the CAF headquarters in La Paz we obtained third place, we were qualified among 52 within other Latin American architecture studios.
A building was requested that was supposed to be able to grow subsequently in an approximately 40%, of its surface, so it was needed to plan it for two construction phases.
Our proposal is mainly explained on the ground floor, and in its link with the outdoor and green areas, being able to cross the building from one park to another through a slightly buried public space taking advantage of the existing terrain unevenness. At the other end, you enter the second ground floor, which is the main entrance to the CAF offices with all the security and admission systems.
A large central void, surrounded by a green wall, creates a link between the two blocks, and the growth block attached to the smallest of the first-phase blocks.
The use of green roofs, ventilated facades, thin spaces favoring the presence of natural light in all work environments and the use of habitable terraces were presented as the strength of our proposal.
This work has, for the minor of the current Studio, a great personal importance: it is a first collaboration of ideas with the workshop, while I was still a student in my fourth year of university. It was a special challenge, since it was required to show a degree of maturity, in a team of people who were already professionals.
